In the case of this office worker, I do not think he is entirely wrong. I do believe that everyone should be able to take time off only if it is an emergency, sick, or exhausted. A worker is given the privilege to take off, but you cannot abuse it. If the supervisor and coworkers were complaining about this office worker’s absenteeism then that is a sure sign that he/she will no longer be viewed as an asset to the team. Regardless of this office workers reasons to not go to work it seemed like his priority isn’t to be at work.
