Nursing theory focuses on patient care management. Many can also be used to guide nursing administrative practices. Leininger and Benner are just two that come to mind.
Nurse leaders can apply the Synergy Model to such issues. For example, assigning graduate nurses with competent, caring staff to "learn the ropes", thus increasing staff retention.
For our discussion this week, please discuss how a specific middle-range nursing theory has been, or could be applied by nurse leaders or nurse managers to effectively deal with an administrative issue (i.e., staffing, use of supplies, staff performance issues, etc.). Include an example from the literature or your own experience to illustrate your points (and of course, a scholarly reference in APA format!).
